Problem with dating younger women
While you figure out the math, let me be clear that I’ve met several other women in their early- to mid-20s who also prefer to date from a much older pool for various reasons.
You don’t have to look far to see most men find women to be at their most attractive in their 20’s.
On the other hand, many women are most attracted to men in their 30’s, 40’s, and even 50’s.
Instead, they settle for less or don’t even try at all.
I think that’s awful because I know many normal, great guys who just happen to like younger women. I want to show you that there’s nothing wrong with age disparity in a relationship and it may even work out better for many couples.
Which is why it baffles me that it’s always assumed that it’s only men who like their partners young. (I’ve always had a thing for Patrick Dempsey.) Holy. ‘I’ve dated older guys who have gone in way too hard way too soon with talking about getting married,’ agrees Katherine, 25. It didn’t take long before I moved my maximum age back down to 34.
Women get stick for being the obsessive, crazy sex, but in my experience, it’s the opposite. ‘Younger guys aren’t as forceful or bothered.’ On top of this, the older guys had no chat. My penchant for the younger lad also probably has a lot to do with the fact I’m pretty immature for my age – I was a very late developer so always feel like I’m a good few years behind everyone else.
Due to the warped sense of thinking that came from item 1, women with daddy issues will misconstrue their situation by begging for attention. She might start a fight, break up with you, or even cheat, just to prevent herself from getting the first cut. This is the most obvious sign, but it is also the one that’s prejudged frequently.
Unfortunately, both items 1 and 2 usually backfire, because they are done out of desperation, instead of affection. Younger women can date older men because they want to. A woman with daddy issues is dealing with the loss of her father’s presence and affection, whether she knows it or not.
Evolutionary psychologists say that relationships like this often occur because while fertility lasts only from puberty to menopause in women, it starts at puberty and can extend long into midlife for lots of men.
That means there’s a strategic advantage for women to snag an older gent—he’s had more time to accumulate resources and stability than his younger counterparts, which could make him a more viable partner and father.
Partly because the current financial climate doesn’t allow the latter, but also because I enjoy my freelance, nomadic lifestyle.Tags: Adult Dating, affair dating, sex dating
